On Sunday, I arrived just in time for the start of the #FestivalStage performances, where concert goers were given a preview, or a warm-up of sorts, before heading inside. The crowd, packed like sardines in the stadium’s parking lot, saw performances from Charles Hamilton, Teyana Taylor, Joey Bada$$, DeJ Loaf, B.o.B., Fetty Wap and Travis $cott – and some even brought guests of their own. Teyana Taylor took us back to the 1990’s as she brought out 2/3 of the R&B group, Total, to perform their classic hit, “Cant You See.” Also bringing a guest of his own, Pro Era’s, Joey Bada$$, brought out Kirk Knight. Stealing the show, however, was none other than Jersey’s own, Fetty Wap. While the crowd showed a tremendous amount of love to all the artists, Fetty Wap definitely got more “home state” love as he performed hits like “My Way” and “Trap Queen.”

Rounding up the #FestivalStage line-up was Travis $cott who had everyone in the crowd at a ridiculous level of HYPE. Performing singles such as “Rodeo” and “Mamacita,” the Houston rapper’s closing set was the perfect segue into the stadium’s main stage performances.

As the evening went on, the stadium seats started to fill up quickly. Kicking off the #FestivalStage, were three R&B heart throbs, Omarion, Mr. Steal-Your-Girl himself, Trey Songz, and Chris Brown. Needless to say, the ladies were in for a treat in the first hour of the show. To level the playing field a bit, Breezy brought out 50 Cent; getting all the fellas in the crowd hype, as well. 50 got some help performing “Many Men” and “What Up Gangsta” from his fellow G-Unit family, Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo. Also coming out during Breezy’s set was rapper, French Montana, where he had everybody in the stadium Shmoney-ing to his “Hot N*gga” (Remix) verse. Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe and Remy Ma also came together, getting the crowd amped with bangers like “Dangerous,” “Ante Up,” and “Lean Back.”

After a quick break, “Fabolous & Friends,” as advertised on Hot 97’s flyer, did not disappoint as well. The Brooklyn rapper, who has been on hiatus a bit, returned with a supporting cast consisting of Black Rob, Busta Rhymes, Chris Brown and French Montana – who all participated in Loso’s set.

The night was filled with surprises as each act continued to rock out their best hits and brought out a handful of special guests that included: Method Man, Raekwon, Mobb Deep, Lil Kim, Ma$e, Schoolboy Q, Future and Nicki Minaj – who at the end of her surprise set, showed some PDA to her boo, Meek; “I love you ,Meek!” Check out some of the videos below.
