SABIT NYC is an influential brand that has made a surge into the urban clothing market since it’s establishment in 2005. Head designer, Shoichi Amemiya is a veteran designer who created the brand after years of working for various clothing lines. Shoichi’s passion for music is represented in his designs and translates well into his A-list clientele of music artists: Juelz Santana, Chris Brown, Swizz Beatz, Daddy Yankee, Lil Wayne and Mario (to name a few).

SABIT NYC has been recognized on credible publications such as The Source, XXL Magazine, Complex and an array of Japanese magazines. The name “SABIT” is derived from the Japanese word meaning “the best part of the song,” or the “hook.” And Shoichi continues to expand his SABIT brand by “hooking” more fashion forward individuals to it, on a global scale.

Late September, I attended The Source 360’s Sneaker & Fashion Expo in Brooklyn and met the marketing manager of SABIT. As we all know, networking in this industry is essential and necessary so I made sure to swap contacts and keep in touch. A couple weeks later, sharing my interest to help expand the brand along with my own, I was asked to model for SABIT in their new NYC flagship store.
