It was just last week that Azealia Banks announced she was inking a deal with the Shaolin legend that is RZA. But it looks as though she spoke too soon on the situation. Earlier today, RZA took to Facebook to write a lengthy post responding to Ms. Banks’ recent actions in his presence.
He was “compelled to respond.” It was THAT serious. According to RZA, Banks was great to work with while they were shooting the “Coco” film. He then, however, went on to clarify that he also never had experience with her “social behavior.” At least not until recently during a dinner party that Russell Crowe was hosting in Beverly Hills.
“Before the night is over, Azalea is insulting half the room. She becomes loud and obnoxious,” said RZA. “There was nothing funny about her behavior. I felt a little embarrassed she was my guest. Still, verbal abuse can be tolerated, but when it goes physically.. Azalea threatened to cut a girl in the face with a glass, then actually grabs a glass and physically attacks for no logical reason. Russell blocked the attach and expelled her from the suite.”
During this brief encounter, Azealia accused Russell of using the “N word,” but RZA confirms that he did not. However, Crowe did “spit at her, but the spit didn’t hit her.” What goes through Azealia Banks mind, man? Will she ever get back to music and making headlines for doing something good and productive? As for RZA, we gotta feel for him a bit, as he seemingly had high hopes for Azealia as an artist. He also confirmed that there was no final record deal laid out for Banks. And that she pre-maturely made the announcement online.
