Tim Gent: 1993 (The Prequel) [Video]

Tim Gent drops off new visuals for his single “1993.” His flow and the rather mellow production takes me back to the early 90’s when Hip Hop was in its rawest form (in my opinion, at least). The single serves as the prequel to Tim’s “Clarksville Nights” project, due on April 22nd.

C-Plus: Open 24 Hours (Mixtape)

I first experienced the lyrics of C-Plus on the Ski Beatz produced track, “Heaven Is.” It was one of my favorite tracks off of “24 Hour Karate School Presents Twilight” (I handled the publicity campaign for the project, FYI). Fabolous: Quiet Storm Freestyle

I’m a sucka for freestyles over classic Hip Hop instrumentals. And what makes it even better is when a dope MC is rapping over it. F-A-B-O-L-O-U-S has been on & off the music scene for awhile but when he’s on, he’s on. Freestyling over Mobb Deeb’s “Quiet Storm,” Fab spits like it’s 2004 all over […]

Ameriie – “Out Loud” (New Single)

Is Ameriie back? Did she also add an extra “i” in her name? Amerie was was always one of my favorite (formerly) “new” R&B singers to come out in the 2000’s. Hard to believe her hit single, “Why Don’t We Fall In Love” came out 13 years ago. That song still knocks! What I love […]

Kendrick Lamar Reveals Album Title + Cover Art!

Seems like a lot of artists these days are doing things “unannounced.” Following suit, Kendrick Lamar dropped the pre-order link for an untitled album out of the blue last week. Late this evening, he revealed both the album title and the cover art. “To Pimp A Butterfly” is allegedly a direct reference to the book […]
