Just a few months ago, MMG rapper, Meek Mill, was incarcerated and has been on the hush. To everyone’s surprise, Meek took to his Twitter account for the first time since July and dropped new music. “Fuck You Mean” features Boosie, a track they previewed earlier in the year. Now, while my taste in Hip Hop tends to gravitate towards the more boom bap, Golden Era type of sound, I do have an appreciation for “Gangster Rap” and/or “Trap Music.”

Nearly confrontational, “Fuck You Mean” is arrogant. It’s cocky and it’s pretty damn good – minus Boosie’s verse. I guarantee that this song will have you bouncing in your seat, throwing up your middle fingers.

I first became a fan of Meek Mill after discovering his “Mr. Philadelphia” mixtape on DatPiff when it first came out in 2010. What initially drew me to his music was his aggressive delivery. “Legggo,” “Rose Red (Remix),” & “Indian Bounce,” were just a few of my favorite cuts off of that tape. It was catchy, it was underground, it was mainstream – it was a well-balanced mixture of all the above.
