For quite some time now, many Hip Hop fans have been anxiously waiting for a J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar collaboration to manifest. Well, about a half hour ago on Black Friday, we just might be a step closer to seeing this happen.

At 4:49 pm EST, each rapper tweeted a link to a song from the other (see Tweets below. From K. Dot’s corner, a song where he raps overs J. Cole’s “A Tale of 2 Citiez” was released. And coming from Cole was a song over Kendrick’s “Alright” single off “TPAB.”

My verdict?

J. Cole’s “Black “Friday” (over Kendrick’s “Alright”)

“Fuck do you know about my pain?”
The laid back, borderline “backpack rapper” flow that we’re used to from J. Cole has been replaced. Channeling his inner Kendrick, Cole aggressively raps over the familar beat.

It’s safe to bet all your marbles on Kendrick because he doesn’t seem to disappoint. Not to say that J. Cole’s original version of “A Tale of 2 Citiez” was bad – but this right here is straight flames. Kendrick has a particular way with his raps that flows distinctively over any given beat. Undeniable evident on his version of “Black Friday.”
