John Legend: “Glory” ft. Common
One day, when the glory comes, it’ll be ours.
Conscious MC, Common, lends his lyrical talents on John Legend’s new soulful and powerful record titled, “Glory.” The single is an original composition for the upcoming film, “Selma.” The song’s release is fitting, as the current events happening in Ferguson and NYC, where cops killed two unarmed black men, are stirring protests nationwide.
The song features an array of references to civil rights movements from both the present and the past.
“The movement is a rhythm to us. Freedom is like religion to us. Justice is juxtaposition in us. Justice for all just ain’t specific enough.”
