With “Paranoia 2” on the way, Dave East teases with his latest loosie titled, “On God.” Producers Nick Paps and Jahlil Beats are credited for the horn infused banger that plays host to East’s grimey raps about drugs, the streets, and the struggle.

“These n**gas be thinking they the best, sh*t, I’m the best too. F**k who got the best crew. Stand still when the TEC move. Drake, you my n**ga, but this penthouse got the best views. Flush out the product and wash my hands like it’s a restroom.”

For his longtime fans, “On God” is a friendly reminder of the Harlem spitter’s capabilities on the microphone. After struggling a bit to capture a mainstream audience with more Pop appeal (recall “Perfect” featuring Chris Brown), East sounds like his old self again. Not to say he isn’t able to make the crossover to “mainstream,” but let’s not forget that East earned his spot in Hip Hop with his grit and realness.
