C-Plus: Open 24 Hours (Mixtape)
I first experienced the lyrics of C-Plus on the Ski Beatz produced track, “Heaven Is.” It was one of my favorite tracks off of “24 Hour Karate School Presents Twilight” (I handled the publicity campaign for the project, FYI).
Since then, I’ve followed his movements and kept in touch, sporadically.
A few days ago, C-Plus delivered his new mixtape in my inbox. Here’s what he had to say about the project:
When you’re on a label you don’t really got the flexibility to do the shit the homie C Plus just did. The Sacramento artist dropped his new 7-track EP “Open 24 Hours” out of nowhere to show a little muscle real quick & keep you guys held over until his upcoming releases. Production provided by Aye Cee.
The opening track “Scrimmage” sounds like it could be the music intro for a show on ESPN; quite fittingly. Track for track, C Plus executes his lyrics with precision. His delivery is seasoned and he raps with a high level of comfort on the beat. Overall, his sound is raw.
I thoroughly enjoy listening to “Open 24 Hours” as I reminisce on the good ole days when Hip Hop sounded like what Hip Hop was to me when I first experienced it as a young buck.
