Maria Myraine, also known as My-My, is a dynamic and fiercely determined woman who was once dubbed “Most Ambitious.” She graduated from St. John’s University with a B.S. in Advertising Communications in 2011. While attending there, she wrote for the university’s newspaper, The Torch. There she covered campus events, music reviews, and artist reviews. Shortly afterwards, she began her own lifestyle/music blog where she grew to discover her passion for both writing and music. She also took advantage of various internship opportunities at Global Grind, Brooklyn Bodega and various advertising/social media agencies – where she gained an array of skills. Between blogging and writing for the school newspaper, Maria Myraine refined her writing skills and landed her first paid position as a Staff Writer for HipHopDX.
As a frequent attendee of different Hip Hop shows, covering them for media outlets, Maria Myraine was able to network with a diverse group of music artists in the indie scene. Being connected in the blogger and music journalist world, Maria Myraine began to bridge the gap between them and the indie music artists she encountered. Offering to write press releases, handle social media strategies and networking for local NYC artists, Maria Myraine was essentially in the budding stages of her PR career.
Knowing that there was more to music PR and publicity than just writing a press release, Maria Myraine started to do research on her own in order to solidify herself as a legit publicist. After Detroit Hip Hop group, Clear Soul Forces, gave her the opportunity to handle PR for them, Maria Myraine was on her way. Upon generating press for them, inquiries from more artists started rolling in.
Realizing that possibilities are endless and opportunities are sometimes self-made, Maria Myraine also dipped her toes into event hosting, radio, modeling and freelancing as a mass communications associate. Every experience has equipped Maria Myraine with skills she continues to utilize and refine as her career advances. Following a serious car accident a decade ago that left her in a coma – which she eventually woke up from – Maria Myraine has been on GO mode as her motivation stems from the second chance at life she was blessed with. On her path to show why her life was spared, Maria Myraine is one determined woman. Recently chosen as a VIBE “Vixen of the Day,” and working on her modeling portfolio, she continues to add more value to her personal brand.
In conclusion, you can never underestimate Maria Myraine, or My-My’s, desire, ambition, work ethic or tenacity. If there’s a task or a problem she’s left to face, she will persevere and find the solution. Whether your needs require hosting duties, editorial insight, creative writing, public relations or even a model, Maria “My-My” Myraine is the woman for the job.
